Rick serves as a strategic advisor to the Castellan Group and is focused on their management of the Louisville Healthcare CEO Council’s Aging Innovation Fund I, a venture capital fund focused on early-stage senior healthcare innovation. 

In 2017, Rick founded the Louisville Healthcare CEO Council, which has been instrumental in transforming Louisville’s health care economy.  Representing the 14 largest national healthcare companies in Louisville, the Council is committed to showcasing and fostering further innovation in its rich senior-focused healthcare ecosystem and driving economic development in the healthcare sector. 

With more than 30 years of experience at Humana, he most recently served as a Senior Vice-President of the firm.  Rick has a diverse and extensive background in healthcare, serving in a variety of hospital and health plan executive leadership roles.  Responsibilities have included sales and client management; service operations; provider network strategy and operations; and hospital administration. 

Rick is passionate about creating value by re-thinking operating models, simplifying experiences, and driving change that helps people live healthier and happier lives. He has also been praised as an effective and inspiring leader of people with demonstrated success in driving excellence and results while promoting a culture of inclusiveness, development and achievement.

An active community advocate, he is the immediate past-chairman of the YPO-Gold Bluegrass chapter in KY; and serves on the Board of Directors of Sword Performance, Inc, an early-stage beverage hydration company located in Lexington, KY.  Rick lives in Naples, FL and Louisville, KY with his wife, Elizabeth, and has two grown children.
